Award-winning Australian author, Tom Keneally, will speaks about his latest novel Shame and the Captives as part of the Talks@Willoughy series presented by Willoughby Council.
Set in the fictional town of Gawell, Keneally takes inspiration from the Cowra Breakout of 1943 and explores the imprisonment of POWs from both the prisoners and local communities’ points of view. At the heart of the novel is a love story, mixing historical fact with Keneally’s legendary storytelling.
Lindfield Bookshop will provide copies of the author’s books for sale on the day.
